Residential Care
What is Residential Care?
Residential care is for persons that cannot live alone but just need that extra bit of help whether it be help getting out of bed in the mornings to help with preparing meals, having a wash and cleaning. We understand that it can become a burden but living in residential care can really lighten that burden whether it be for the person finding it hard or for families and friends.
Within a residential care home we take care of all of the necessary day to day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, washing whilst also having carers on-hand 24/7 to provide care and support where needed making sure that our residents maintain as much independence as possible.
Where needed our skilled staff will help with things such as personal care, administration of medications and monitoring of residents emotional and mental wellbeing ensuring that if there are any changes it is dealt with and remedial action is taken to rectify the issue.
Many people needing residential care have often been lonely for a long time and find that coming into a home with people alike quite comforting, they reminisce about the ‘old days’ and form close bonds with other residents which is so comforting for us and families to see.
At Penerley Lodge we encourage families to be as much a part of their loved ones care as the care staff, we have found that with families engaging it really enhances their loved ones experience from settling in to spending more quality time with them.
